The Grant Gordon Initiative For Chefs, Inc.
In addition to announcing the awards at the gala dinner on Sunday, October 2, at The Corinthian, there was also a special announcement by The Grant Gordon Foundation. In honor of Grant Gordon, The Grant Gordon Initiative For Chefs, Inc. awarded $5,000 to a Houston-area chef or individual in the hospitality industry who has gone through a crisis or hardship, be it due to an illness or other reason.
For its first gift, the foundation presented the donation to David Guerrero of Andes Cafe, who has been fiercely battling brain tumors since he was 28.
